Kitchen Essentials For The New Homeowner

Kitchen Essentials for the New HomeOwner

Twas the morn’ after Christmas and all through my kitchen, there was banging and clanking and sizzlin’ and hissin’. When what to my wondering eyes did appear, but a text on my Android saying, “Hey, Mom, I’m here, making eggs. You want some eggs?” …. Ummmmm…. YES, please! Seriously, does it get any better than this? I’m happy to lend out my kitchen and also provide a list of kitchen essentials for the new homeowner to boot!

My oldest son purchased a fixer upper this summer and the current state of his kitchen is best described as semi-planned, demo’d chaos, and other than a pizza oven and a bathtub-turned kitchen sink, is largely unusable. Anyways, he was hungry and decided to stop at Mom’s to cook some bacon and eggs. Oh my heart! I hope my boys always feel welcome to come home when they need anything ….. especially if the visit includes a home-cooked meal …. breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, supper, whateva name you want to call it, I’m in. 😏

In thinking about this morning, it occurred to me all of the kitchen items he would need once his kitchen reno is complete. I’ve collected a few must haves for the first time home owner, which coincidentally border on items I would like in my own kitchen. 🀭 Enjoy this edition of ‘Tin Shanty Picks’ and I hope it gives you some ideas to help your ‘little birds’ feather their nest.
