Blush Decor and Gold, Oh My!

The outfit that inspired the post! (Wild Fable coat and sunnies from target.com)

It’s been sunny & warm here at the Shanty the last few days and naturally my thoughts are turning to spring and brightening my home decor. I’ve been noticing a lot of blush and gold in my Instagram feed lately, both in fashion and home decor, and I’m not hating the look. I’ve collected some accent pieces and spaces that crush this blush decor and gold movement. I hope they are as inspiring to you as they are to me! Credits are listed under each photo. Is gold back in home decor?

YES! Even though in the early aughts, I took a solemn oath of ‘I am never, ever, ever using gold in decor again. …. EVER!’, … it’s time to give gold another look. Contrary to the shiny, loud, gold-plated fixures of yesteryear, the gold of today is muted with matte and brushed finishes. It stands in luxe, minimalist settings and in wood/white, cozy, farmhouses. Use it more as an accent and not the ‘all or nothing’, ‘matchy-matchy’ style of the 80s and 90s. Mixed metals are here to stay and I’m loving the un-fussy interest it brings.

Blush decor for the win!

Blush, bashful, and oh so refreshing. Styling with blush decor is having a moment. The pink of choice has beige undertones with a matte finish.
